About Us
Humorology, or "Humo" for short, is an annual musical/variety show that takes place at the University of Wisconsin – Madison in the spring of each year. Humorology has been a UW- Madison tradition since 1947, touching the lives of students and the community through the money we raise for local non-profits and the energy and passion we bring to campus. We are excited to celebrate our 77th year of Humorology.
Each year, over 1,000 students participate in Humorology and compete in teams (casts) to write, compose, choreograph, and direct their own original mini-musical comedy. Throughout the summer and the fall semester, our nine casts work to perfect their shows and fundraise the most for Humorology's chosen local beneficiary of the year. Our casts compete for six esteemed spots in the final show in April— a true spectacle that the community does not want to miss!
This competitive spirit has allowed Humorology to donate over $2.4 million to local Madison organizations. We take pride in our philanthropic efforts and our ability to work diligently to better the lives of children around Madison ! Year after year, Humorology strives to make a difference in our community and we are so thankful for all the support that we have.

Humorology is a student run philanthropy organization at its core. Over the last 75 years we have been supporting nonprofit organizations in our local Madison community. So far, Humorology has raised over $2.4 million. Each year, our nine casts go above and beyond to raise money through our shows and fundraising efforts. Last year, we partnered with the Logan's Hearts and Smiles and raised over $490,000 to help support their teams and their services.
